CHOPIN NIGHTS

The last proyect of Mario Ahijado Trio connects Classical and Jazz worlds on stage, making their audience more interested in these styles with the support of the shared musical language.

Chopin Nights is formed of eight original arrangements on Chopin’s Nocturnes for jazz piano trio.

It goes through the most noted jazz styles and fusions such as swing, blues, samba, latin jazz or flamenco.

The performers of this ensemble are Darío Guibert (double bass), Rodrigo Ballesteros (drums) and Mario Ahijado (piano and arrangements)

The music was recorded at Black Hill Studios in Talavera de la Reina (Spain) in July 2015 and at Belle Shenkman Studios, London in February 2017.

Ahijado – Pagán Piano Duo

Recently awarded First Prize of the International Music Competition “Salzburg and Amsterdam” Grand Prize Virtuoso.
Based in London since 2015, the Ahijado-Pagán Piano Duo was established during their Master’s studies at the Royal College of Music and Trinity Laban Conservatoire, where they worked with professors such as Dina Parakhina, Mikhail Kazakevich or Angel Sanzo.

Since then, their career as a duo has taken Mario Ahijado and Angela Pagan to perform in many venues across Europe such as The Wiener Saal (Salzburg), Blackheath Halls (London) or Sociedad Económica de Amigos del País de Jaen (Spain) to name a few.

Furthermore, they have also performed in festivals like MusaE or CoLaB, where they collaborated with dancers and other artists to showcase the full performance of Tchaikovsky’s Ballet Suites for piano four hands.

Among other projects and pieces, their repertoire includes works such as The Rite of Spring by Stravinsky and their own arrangement of El Amor Brujo by Spanish composer Manuel de Falla.
